On January 19, 2023, the U.S. CPSC and Health Canada announced a recall of hot chocolate POTS made in China。The recall involves hot chocolate jugs with SKU/UGS number 9292417, which is located on the bottom of the box。The product is white with a red lid, and the ceramic pot has a reindeer on the front。The product also includes a battery-operated foam rod。The bottom of the pot displays the date code 5/22。The product is incorrectly labeled with a microwave safety label. If the product is heated in a microwave oven, the metal paint on the pot will spark, posing a fire hazard。
The recalled products are inSold in the United States and Canada from September 2022 to November 2022, about 2,700 units were sold in the United States and about 40 units were sold in Canada for about $100。So far, no accidents or injuries have been reported in the U.S. or Canada。The U.S. CPSC and Health Canada recommend immediately discontinuing use of the product and contacting Williams Sonoma for a full refund plus instructions on a $20 gift card。
